MORE AWARDS!

The Decatur Area SHRM #0555 Chapter has been awarded the 2013 Bronze EXCEL Award.  This award recognizes outstanding achievements in chapter operations and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to your members. It also is recognition of your continued growth and development as a business leader, capable of developing strategies that lead to business success!  We are very proud of your leadership, and thank you for your continued partnership with SHRM.

By achieving this award, your chapter distinguishes itself as an outstanding organization dedicated to serving the needs of your members and to the advancement of the human resource management profession.  Throughout the year, we will continue to recognize your chapter's achievement as a Bronze EXCEL award winner.

For the second year in a row Decatur Area SHRM #0555 has achieved "SHRM Foundation Champion" status!

Congratulations are in order! As a result of our fundraising efforts in 2013, our chapter has been designated as a 2013 SHRM Foundation Champion. The support provided by the SHRM chapters and state councils allows the SHRM Foundation to provide opportunities available to your fellow HR professionals that they may not have had otherwise, including:

♦ Assisting individuals in their pursuit of greater academic credentials
The SHRM Foundation awards more than $200,000 in educational and certification scholarships each year to help create the next generation of HR leaders.

♦ Supporting researchers who bring us greater understanding of the complexities of HR
In 2013, the SHRM Foundation introduced its new Thought Leadership Initiative to inform "what's next". To achieve this vision, The SHRM Foundation is working with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) to conduct a multi-phase program to identify and analyze critical trends likely to impact the workplace in the next 5-10 years. Additionally, the SHRM Foundation has awarded more than $3.8 million in research grants funding original, rigorous, empirical research studies that have direct, actionable implications for HR practice.

♦ Creating materials that explain how HR practitioners can capitalize on the new knowledge that research provides

From identifying emerging trends to helping HR practitioners become strategic business leaders, the SHRM Foundation’s educational products are at the forefront of the HR profession. These include the Effective Practice Guidelines series, the Executive Briefings & educational DVD series, all of which are available for complimentary download from shrmfoundation.org  to SHRM members and the public.

These resources are making a difference every day by shaping the future of HR!
